Revamped Essay's Search for Information Continues!

While searching through my various key terms on the Delta College Library eLibrary, I found an article called "Information Sharing and Relationships on Social Networking". This interesting article thoroughly investigates the links between the development of relationships online and the sharing of personal information; information that can cause different effects compared to a more traditional in person interaction. The author surveyed countless people ranging from ages 12-83 over experiences on social networking sites. Mostly, the results seemed to side towards a more positive experience and the friendships made are strong and built upon. People seem to be more comfortable online than they would be in natural public, providing insight into how the positive far outweighs the negative in comparison.
I feel as if this ties in nicely with my essay, which is trying to prove that online communities are generally a good experience to have and can even help with people who are confidant find the friendships that they can't seem to make in their natural communities.

  1. This is interesting and brings up the thought of the good in social media. For me meeting new people in real life is a easy thing but for many It is a very hard task to accomplish. Furthermore I can see how having online community and being tied to something even if it is online cold be helpful to many people . Good luck on your essay !
